About GamerVerdict

Player reviews, read at scale and summarised into a verdict you can act on.

Why this exists

A popular game can carry hundreds of thousands of Steam reviews. Nobody reads them all, so most buying decisions come down to a single percentage and whatever the loudest few reviews happen to say. GamerVerdict reads the whole body of reviews for a game and reports what players actually and repeatedly say — the strengths worth paying for, and the problems worth knowing about before you buy.

How a verdict is produced

We collect the reviews

Player reviews and store data are pulled from Steam's public catalogue and refreshed as games change, so scores, prices and player counts reflect the current state of a game rather than its launch week.

We weigh them

Reviews are graded for credibility using signals such as playtime at the time of writing, so a verdict leans on players who actually played the game rather than on review-bomb traffic.

We summarise them

A language model condenses the weighted reviews into a short verdict with concrete pros and cons. Every claim comes from the review corpus for that specific game — we do not write opinions of our own.

What we do not do
  • —We do not publish a review score of our own. The percentage you see is what players gave the game.
  • —We do not accept payment from developers or publishers to add, alter, remove or improve a verdict.
  • —We are not affiliated with Valve, and we do not sell games or take a cut of any sale.
  • —Summaries are machine-generated from player reviews. They can miss nuance, and they are no substitute for reading reviews yourself on a purchase you care about.
Coverage

A game gets a page once it has enough reviews to summarise responsibly. Coverage grows as more games clear that bar — you can browse everything currently covered from the reviews index.
