Love the game. Will gladly update my review to positive if a "save and quit" button is added. Its 2026. Allow me to save when i want, i don't intend on keeping the game running like an NES cartridge.

Very cool game as a Star Trek fan. Keep in mind you're in for an indie production here, so maybe it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a higher budget title, but I think the gameplay loop does a good job providing a classic Star Trek experience. My big complaint is no manual save. I made the unfortunate assumption that the lack of manual save meant that the game consistently autosaved, and upon exiting, I lost about a half hour of play time. Devs, please either ensure that the game is autosaving every cycle, or give us the ability to save manually. Players need the ability to put the game down on their own time.
This game doesnt contain any way how to manualy save, including no save on exit. There is only extremly spare autosave, so if you need to leave or game crashes, expect to replay whole sectors. 19.02.2026 EDIT: Devs responded on Discord: gameXcite Chris — 02:01 Currently only auto saves, but since it came up alot already we will be looking into improving the save feature.
Star Trek Voyager was the first show I watched when I was a kid, it is what I was introduced to. When I booted into the main menu and heard the theme song, I was hit by a wave of nostalgia, I just sat and listened to it for a few minutes. It’s really nice to play a modern Star Trek game that isn't built for mobile or filled with $50 microtransactions for a new ship, it feels like a real game and you can tell the developers tried to put their heart in it. The What If? scenarios are really nicely done. My only real problem is the lack of full voice acting, which I understand the lack of, I do hope they add more in future updates to truly bring the crew to life. It has it's rough edges and it's by no means perfect but I am really looking forward to playing this and see what they do with it in the future. It runs pretty fantastically on the Steam Deck, Built in controller support, My game did freeze up while placing a room though which made me lose a few minutes of progress. Turns out if you try to move your cursor while placing the room it freezes and you can only open the menus then restart. Also, Janeway did not do anything wrong, Tuvix wasn't a person. Edit: After playing it for an hour, I understand the lack of voice acting, with the myriad of different pathes and alternate decisions, I think voice acting everything would be expensive to say the least. Though it would be nice to have occasional voice lines put in, other than Paris's cutscene at the beginning.
This one hurts. I’ve been desperately looking for a good Star Trek game. Something. Anything. A good RPG. A good simulator. A good strategy. I saw this game and saw the simulator part, the role playing part, the strategy part. It seemed to have all the things I wanted in a game like this. Until I started playing it. I hate to do this and again I wish there was a neutral button. But in this particular case, with this particular price tag I have to give it a thumbs down. It’s just not worth 35 dollars. There’s 98% no voice acting. The sound effects are sparse. The music is great though. The gameplay is slow and repetitive. The UI is needlessly confusing. There’s too much information and yet not enough direction. The ship battles are super fast, not enough to time to actually enjoy them. The away team missions are just text missions with RNG and super boring. The writing is sub par. Honestly the game is just average. I’m sure Star Trek fans will get a kick out of this, but only them. And even for them, I’d recommend a big discount. I just can’t find a single reason why this would be worth more than 25 dollars at the most. It’s an average game I guess. But I just don’t feel like it’s worth it.
